A Dream Years in the Making
When the pandemic hit, Toronto’s music community took a massive blow. Rehearsal spaces disappeared, venues went quiet, and many of the creative spaces musicians relied on suddenly vanished. Watching so much of the city’s musical infrastructure disappear felt heartbreaking – but it also became the push needed to finally create Volume 11 Studios.
For years, the idea quietly lived in the background. Like many musicians, I carried music alongside my career rather than instead of it. I spent nearly two decades working in international business and finance, helping companies and entrepreneurs build their visions while my own passion patiently waited on the sidelines. Eventually, I realized it was time to stop postponing the dream and start building something of my own.
Why Rehearsal Spaces Matter
As a musician, I know how important creative spaces are and how rare they’ve become in Toronto.
Rehearsal studios are more than rooms filled with amps and drums. Bands form inside these walls. Songs begin here. Confidence grows here. Musicians experiment, make mistakes, tighten their sound, and slowly discover who they are as artists. Long rehearsals, late-night jam sessions, and conversations between sets often become the foundation of a real music community.
That sense of connection sits at the heart of Volume 11 Studios.
Built for Toronto Musicians
Working alongside Cherry Beach Sound Studios has created an incredible opportunity to help revive Toronto’s rehearsal studio community and offer musicians a welcoming place to create. Our goal has always been simple: build the kind of rehearsal studio musicians actually want to spend time in: inspiring rooms, professional sound, premium gear, and a supportive atmosphere where creativity can thrive.
Whether you’re rehearsing for your first show, preparing for tour, recording demos, or simply getting together to make noise with friends, Volume 11 Studios exists to keep Toronto’s music community loud, creative, and connected.
We’re only getting started, and we truly cannot wait to welcome you into the studios.
Let’s make noise. Let’s build community. Let’s rebuild this city; one rehearsal at a time.
